As a Project Manager at Dololo Operations (Pty) Ltd (a former development company in Namibia), I led the execution of startup and business development projects and training programmes in collaboration with key partners such as the French and Finnish Embassies and GIZ. I demonstrated proficiency in project and event planning and management, budgeting, stakeholder engagement, and team leadership—skills that I am eager to further apply in larger programme management roles. As a Founding Partner of The Afrofest, I successfully managed event coordination and project implementation, further showcasing my abitily to deliver impactful initiatives. Dololo Operations is one of the leading startup incubators in Namibia. They work with organisations to design and implement entrepreneurship and business development programmes, and match organisations with Namibia’s most talented entrepreneurs. Moreover, they support companies by providing corporate innovation workshops and digital training. My time at Dololo was a great experience filled with lots of learning, personal development and growth. I worked closely with the CEO and COO to help achieve the company's goals and objectives. I had the chance to work with a dynamic team that trusted me with great responsibility early on. My role started off with the day-to-day management of a coworking space, company communications across various platforms, content creation, and event coordination. After a few months, I moved on to coordinating project related activities. This gave me a great opportunity to learn the "on-the-ground" aspects of project coordination. During my last months at Dololo, I got promoted to project manager. I managed and coordinated various entrepreneurship and business development projects with various institutions such as the French Embassy and GIZ in Namibia. In addition, my role also consisted of project reporting, budget allocation and management, team management, as well as selecting the right talent to execute specific project tasks. My time at Dololo gave me the opportunity to expand and improve on my project management skills as well as the ability to work in a dynamic team. I learned the technical aspects of project management, as well as the processes for designing a project, and thus implementing it from start to finish. Other tasks consisted of communications, website management, content creation for driving sales and reach, workshop facilitation for training early-stage entrepreneurs, day-to-day transaction management, as well as assisting in the creation and editing of company documentation, such as proposals.
