During this internship I conducted research on the accessibility of mental health services for immigrants, with a specific focus on gender similarities and difference.It was a mixed method study. In total I analysed 53 interviews making use of Nvivo 10 software and SPSS software. I explored the gender differences regarding access to mental health care. Moreover, I organised expert meetings to discuss these results and how these results should influence the development of a mental health education and awareness program in the community for men and women.The results of this study will be used for the development of a mental health education and awareness program for men and women in the African Church community. Additionally, in collaboration with the director of research, I continue working on an article for publication.
