As a technical manager responsible for building offshore teams, I found myself frustrated over the fact that interviewing was such a painful process. Let’s start with the time difference, unable to take thorough notes, heavy accents, unfamiliarity with names, unable to recall who said what, the list goes on and on.I looked at the tools available out there and could not find something specific to what I was trying to do. I wanted to talk to candidates that met specific criteria and had good communication skills. A video interview would solve part of the problem, but that required me to be there and given the time difference, it wasn’t always an ideal solution.
