Leo is a industry veteran with 20 years of experience in web-development.His initial goal of becoming a developer was sidetracked by an opportunity to establish an internet provider in Mexico in the late 90s. Together with several friends from Norway and some initial venture capital they started Simplemente in Mexico City, which has now established itself as a leading company in the audio-video industry in Mexico.Later on in his career Leo moved towards the business side of technology and worked for a few years as a business consultant, first in a small startup called LabRed founded by several ex-Bain consultants and later, via acquisitions, in Alterbrain a larger firm which was eventually sold to Mexican powerhouse Neoris (owned by Cemex)After having worked as a consultant Leo returned to a more hands-on experience in Abargon, leading 4 separate development teams in a period of strong growth in the company. During this time Leo participated in high-profile projects with the biggest companies in Mexico including the corporate sites for Bimbo, Pemex and the CFE.In 2004 Leo founded, with the help of angel investors, Copyleft Mexico which has gradually grown to become a team of 20 people forming an integral part of the Copyleft Solutions Group where he currently serves as director of the board. Copyleft today is a healthy and expanding business with offices in Oslo, Mexico City, Puerto Escondido (Mexico) and Cebu (Philippines) and have successfully spun of a number of companies and work with both regional and international clients.In addition he dedicates time and energy to two wonderful schools; a co-founder of Papalotes in Puerto Escondido, Oax and as a Makers teacher at Academia Internacional in San Miguel de Allende.
