The Huairou Commission is a global movement of grassroots women's groups, community-based organizations and NGOs organizing to change power dynamics in their own communities and influence global policy making. My work at the Huairou Commission included, assisting with grant management, including updating detailed reports on community resilience work from grassroots group members. Supporting the Community Resilience, Land and Housing Program Associate with event planning and organizing for the 2015 World Bank Conference on Land and Poverty which included organizing a delegation of 10 grassroots women and academics and the Huairou Commission's presence at the conference. This included visa letter writing, booking and organizing travel and lodging arrangements, pre conference logistics and post conference follow ups. Developed a monitoring and evaluation system of grassroots groups governance work, through the creation of "governance maps" as a tool for grassroots women when building partnerships with government officials at all levels. These maps allowed Huairou and the grassroots groups to visualize Local to Local dialogues effectiveness in growing the "community practitioner platform."Managed baseline evaluation program work for over 20 grassroots groups which required interviews from group leaders, creating and completing questionnaires, and filling gaps in program work reporting through follow up meetings.

I worked on several farms in the outskirts of Paris, the Côte d'Azur region, and Florence. Farming, Gardening, Gite upkeep and assisting the farm owners were duties I performed. In the Asia region I tutored Vietnamese school children ages 11-14 during an evening program in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. While in Bangkok I participated in home visits with Sri Lankan refugees to determine necessary needs for local programs. In Vientiane, Laos I volunteered as an English conversation partner at the Buddhist Temple Wat Si Muang. In exchange for afternoon conversation sessions I learned a great deal about the lives of Theravada Buddhist Monks in Vientiane.
