As an associate working on the Beyond Health portfolio; I have contributed to collective action initiatives (including Global Mental Health - mhNOW, Financing and Innovation in Global Health - FIGH,and others) and have been involved with GDI's social enterprise accelerator work. (including Grassroots Soccer, International Lifeline Fund and Project Open Source) and long term organizational support work (HealthEnabled) including support on the development of a Global Digital Health Index.

The Huairou Commission is a global movement of grassroots women's groups, community-based organizations and NGOs organizing to change power dynamics in their own communities and influence global policy making. My work at the Huairou Commission included, assisting with grant management, including updating detailed reports on community resilience work from grassroots group members. Supporting the Community Resilience, Land and Housing Program Associate with event planning and organizing for the 2015 World Bank Conference on Land and Poverty which included organizing a delegation of 10 grassroots women and academics and the Huairou Commission's presence at the conference. This included visa letter writing, booking and organizing travel and lodging arrangements, pre conference logistics and post conference follow ups. Developed a monitoring and evaluation system of grassroots groups governance work, through the creation of "governance maps" as a tool for grassroots women when building partnerships with government officials at all levels. These maps allowed Huairou and the grassroots groups to visualize Local to Local dialogues effectiveness in growing the "community practitioner platform."Managed baseline evaluation program work for over 20 grassroots groups which required interviews from group leaders, creating and completing questionnaires, and filling gaps in program work reporting through follow up meetings.

Issuu is a digital publishing platform with over 80 million monthly readers and publisher clients such as The New York Times, The United Nations, World Bank, Oxfam, Amnesty International and millions more. As the third US employee at Issuu US, I was able to contribute to the growth of Issuu's US presence and development. During my 2+ years at Issuu, I worked with the Director of Consumer Engagement and US Sales, the Vice President of Marketing and the Vice President of Business Development; both at Issuu's New York office and then Palo Alto Office. Overall, I held various roles and responsibilities, such as, developed and managed relationships with client publishers such as The United Nations Development Program, The World Bank and Transparency International in the management and promotion of their digital publications, and brought in many new high profile client accounts under various sectors. Managed Issuu's Social Media presence and growth, including content curation for Issuu's various social media platforms.

Ka.Der is the association for the support of women candidates and defends equal representation of women and men in all fields of life. Ka.Der aims to increase the number of women in politics and in decision making positions to achieve equal representation; this is through eliminating economic, social, cultural and legal obstacles, the strengthening of cooperation and coordination among women in political parties and works to integrate gender equality in all policies and programs. During my time at Ka.Der I became familiar with the workings of a Women’s Turkish NGO and reviewed their membership structure and training of trainers program. As well, I assisted in the group’s Presidential Election events in July 2014. While at Ka.Der I reviewed, edited, and updated all English content of the Ka.Der website.

Europe & Asia

I worked on several farms in the outskirts of Paris, the Côte d'Azur region, and Florence. Farming, Gardening, Gite upkeep and assisting the farm owners were duties I performed. In the Asia region I tutored Vietnamese school children ages 11-14 during an evening program in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. While in Bangkok I participated in home visits with Sri Lankan refugees to determine necessary needs for local programs. In Vientiane, Laos I volunteered as an English conversation partner at the Buddhist Temple Wat Si Muang. In exchange for afternoon conversation sessions I learned a great deal about the lives of Theravada Buddhist Monks in Vientiane.

Teldon provided me with foundational business experience on the sales and marketing side which has enhanced my ability to work with individuals and organizations from various sectors and sizes. This position required the ability to comfortably conduct business on the phone and the need to multitask by managing many sales accounts at once. Gaining these skills in verbal communication and managing multiple projects at once all while learning productive management styles from my effective supervisor created valuable and important skill sets that I continue to improve today.

While interning at the American Diabetes Association I was able to apply my previous sales knowledge and effectively fundraise for the organization through various events including the popular "Tour de Cure," the American Diabetes Association's annual Albany Gala and others. As well I gained foundation insight into non profit operations and event logistics and planning.
