As a project manager in medical communication, my roles and responsibilities are to advise on optimal medical communication development strategy according to the target audience and client expectations; to actively drive the delivery of biomedical publications according to the client and authors expectations, agreed timelines, and data dissemination plan; to closely monitor and optimize project planning; to ensure proactive communication about project development with all internal and external authors and stakeholders; to coordinate cross-functional delivery teams and ensure project completion and publication delivery according to high-quality standards and agreed timelines; to own project documentation in client specific software (e.g., iEnvision Datavision); and to identify and manage operational risks and issues and propose tailored solutions.In my role of Knowledge Champion/Single Point of Contact (SPoC) for management and sharing of knowledge of the client’s publications development process and project management software, my tasks and responsibilities are to collate feedback/questions from members of our cross-functional delivery teams and relay communications/decisions/outputs of our discussions with the client(s) on a regular basis; to gather important information; to train and support colleagues and ensure they are able to act in an autonomous way within the evolving project management process and tools maintained by the client(s); and to be an advocate of change within our Team.As a Certified Medical Publication Professional (CMPP™) of the International Society for Medical Publication Professionals (ISMPP), I am recognized as both an expert in the profession and as a professional who embraces the highest ethical and professional standards in medical communication.Business & Decision Life Sciences is an international Contract Research Organization (CRO) with offices in nine countries across Europe, North America, Asia and North Africa.
