Les has worked in the advertising industry for BBDO, JWT, Key Advertising, Grey Advertising, McCann-Erickson, Herdbuoys McCann-Erickson, Azaguys, ChilliBush, AdforceDDB, Foghound Studios, Net#workBBDO and Joe Public as Art Director, Group CD, Deputy CD, Creative Director, Executive CD, Partner, consulting CD/Copywriter, freelance Creative Director/Copywriter and Senior Copywriter.It has taken him on a journey of working on some of the major brands in the South African market place as well as in Africa (Kenya & Namibia) and the Middle East (Israel).He was seconded to McCann-Erickson Nairobi for a month where he won the first international award for McCann-Erickson Nairobi at that time. He spent 3 months at AdforceDDB Namibia as consulting Creative Director where he was involved in developing creative campaigns for tenders on Air Namibia, Nampost, Namport and NAPPA. The tenders for Nampost and NAPPA were successful, adding to his exceptional hit rate in acquiring new business. Les's hit rate in acquiring new business continued at Foghound Studios with successful pitches for Mix Telematics/Matrix vehicle recovery, Kenwood Triblade SA launch and Kenwood SA Masterchef campaign.Les was selected to attend the intensive McCann-Erickson Leadership Development Programme at the Business School of Columbia University in New York.His work has featured in the annuals of the Loeries, The London International Awards, The New York Festivals, The Art Directors Club of New York, Creativity, Graphis and Communications Art.From December 2015 till October 2016 Les worked at Net#workBBDO as freelance Creative Director/Copywriter on the Ithuba National Lottery account, part of Mercedes-Benz, Simba Nik Naks (PepsiCo) and Royco.The TV commercial produced for the Lotto and Lotto Plus relaunch was nominated for a Loerie.Since June 2017 Les has been working at Joe Public Ignite, JP Connect on Mercedes-Benz Trucks & Vans and Clover SA and at Joe Public United as senior writer on Clover SA. The Tropika TVC being voted 5th in the Kanter Best Liked TVC 4th quarter 2019 as well as the Clover Milk TVC voted 2nd and the Krush TVC 6th in the 3rd quarter 2021.
