Provided after hours support for postal applications from home. Created and maintained a schedule to ensure constant coverage of application monitoring. Used BMC Patrol software to monitor and track system resources on servers across the US.

1991-2010 Computer Programmer/Software Specialist - Provided application development and support. Set up new postal facilities as part of Distributed Systems Support group. Performed site surveys, created local network diagrams, and order equipment. Developed SLA’s with site and local vendors and utilities. Coordinated with postal inspectors and local security office. Prepared documents to assist local electronic technicians in troubleshooting the system. Maintained a database of site configurations, contacts, emergency procedures and service history for over one hundred of the largest postal processing plants in the country.

Post 911- after the 911 attack and during the Anthrax scares in New York City and Trenton I served as part of a team that created and implemented plans to keep postal resources productive through reassignment, and creation of alternate duty stations. We initiated actions to minimize impact to mail processing and delivery by utilizing MPE’s in existing facilities while the south street station branch was closed. Handled issues related to Anthrax attacks in Manhattan, and Trenton, NJ. Received the Vice President’s award for this effort.

1988-1991- Telecommunication Hardware Tech/Specialist- Evaluated and analyzed communication problems. As problems arose they were isolated and corrected. Systems in place at that time required the use of oscilloscopes and voltage meters. Cable ends and connectors were checked and replaced as needed.1987-1988 Computer Operator –Worked on IBM and CDC mainframes computers. Used reel to reel tape drives and cartridge drives.

1985-1987 - Goddard Space Flight CenterWorked as a private contractor with RMS Technologies Inc. 8201 Corporate Drive, Landover, Md. As Operations Analyst I served as principal point of contact for operations related issues. I prepared and maintained statistical logs and event/failure reports. (This function was not automated at that time). Initiated disk error recovery and data set/disk restoration if necessary. Types of processing included programming for Global Weather, and topology satellites, collecting transmission data and creation of reports plotting courses.
