Board member of the ~£650m pa Maritime Services business within BAE SYSTEMS during periods of significant change. Accountable for financial and programme deliverables for a £250m pa sales business (1200 people on 5 sites) across a diverse UK and International portfolio covering Radar, Underwater Weapons, Training Services (RN), Information Management Services, Fast Boats and Manufacturing, including R&D, Development and Service based contracts.  Focussed on service excellence, exceeding Support KPIs driving significant additional margin Created a business based on long-term UK “franchises”, each with a stable core, identified upside and associated investment cases. Order intake:• Radar developments to position to equip Type 45 Destroyers with a ballistic missile defence capability.• £270m upgrade for Spearfish torpedo and positioned for follow on (~£400m) support contracts• Archerfish, a multi-year buy of mine neutralisers and a direct sale into NAVSEA (US)• Sixty-four technically advanced Boats to UK MoD.• Developed Training Services in UK and KSA; delivered profit from FAST JV for Astute submarines.• Various manufacturing contracts from microelectronics to major assemblies Turned around significant, high profile projects to ensure a mutually acceptable programme was delivered to time and cost with manageable business, programme and technical risk profiles Successfully dealt with challenging technical development issues, focussing on the customer to enhance reputation, whilst minimising business cost and risk. Implemented a revised organisation focussing on core sectors with improvements in service delivery, developed growth options and delivered margin upside and performance improvements.  Stood up an Information Services sector, combining separate groups to create a unified approach to architecture and front / back office functions. Developed “Make versus Buy” proposition to encourage more manufacturing work from within BAE.
