In October 2010 I merged by consultancy business with a local Accountancy practice, C I Accountancy Ltd, to extend the range of services available as Accountants and Business Advisors. This merger allowed C I Accountancy to expand its core services of accountancy, tax advice, payroll, book keeping, anti money laundering compliance, company incorporation and set up, trust and estate administration in to various business support services including business planning, finance, (commercial mortgages, asset finance, property development finance and bank lending), grant applications, business development, and assistance to start-up businesses. In February 2011, CI Accountancy was accepted as a member of MGI, one of only 11 UK Accountancy practices to achieve this accolade. Membership provides access to the expertise of financial experts from around the world and enables C I Accountancy to offer an enhanced range of services, most particularly assisting those seeking to engage in overseas business activities through being able to access a high quality and trusted service.C I Accountants are about "adding value" to a business including free business health checks for, free collection and delivery service within 25 miles of the main office, providing meeting rooms for clients to use free of charge, bookkeeping training and monthly newsletters. We always welcome the opportunity to work with non-clients. We aim to provide a flexible and personalised service to all clients, starting from the initial meeting; we can meet you at your convenience either at our office, your home or place of work. In essence, what you get from CI Accountancy is all the technical expertise and experience of a large national firm, with the cost structure and personal attention of a local practice.

The service includes cost effective business planning with professionally completed business plans, assistance with starting a business, and for existing businesses I offer financial planning, completion of finance applications and grant applications, assistance with specialist finance including Commercial Property finance, Property Development finance, Asset finance, Factoring, Invoice Discounting, and Small Firms Loan Guarantee scheme, assistance with business expansion and business development, cash flow and debt problems, bookkeeping, business administration, business sales and purchase, and Franchise purchase and development and working with a business on an ongoing basis to encourage growth.

Managing a portfolio of approximately 300 Business customers varying from the sole trader to Limited Companies. I developed proactive relationships with existing and new customers to ensure their business and personal needs were met. I was involved in Business Development including customer acquisition. I established strong relationships with local business influencers, including Accountants and Solicitors, and developed contacts with local trade organisations including Business Link, the Local Council and the Business Forum. I was active within the local community e.g. Hexham Community Centre and the Schools which included involvement with A level Business Studies groups and Young Enterprise, acting as a mentor, providing leadership and management to students with their business activities. I assisted business start - ups with the preparation and maintenance of business plans. I reviewed and analysed financial information relating to lending applications and considered the customers needs in relation to the Bank service. I maintained an awareness of Business Banking products and services and was qualified as an “in-house” trainer, delivering courses to colleagues, both locally and nationally.
