Head of Function with responsibility for the estates maintenance as part of establishments senior management team.Setting local policy on estates matters and ensuring the local delivery team impliment them.Carry out rostered role as Duty Governor, carrying out disciplinary adjudications, taking lead on risk assessment and chairing home detention curfews. Carrying out command role in management of incidents in both management and support roles.

Managing an estates maintenance team encompassing Electrical, Mechanical and Building trades.Ensuring statutory and Mandatory compliance whilst ensuring Quality assurance.Liaison with operational functions in the Prisons to ensure maintenance has a measured and limited impact on the core business of the Prison Service.Drawing up specifications and subsequent tendering exercises for new maintenance contracts or projects.

First Line Management Role - managing a team of Electricians carrying out Planned Maintenance, Reactive Maintenance, Installations and Projects.Identifying and procuring goods and materials for the department.

Various Roles from Electrician, Prison Officer, Trades Officer through to Senior Trades Officer at a number of HMPPS sites.

Hatfield Colliery

Served Indentured Apprenticeship and worked both on both the surface and underground at Hatfield Colliery supporting production and carrying out planned maintenance and reactive maintenance tasks.Work scope ranged form low Voltage intrinsically safe signalling and control systems, through domestic, commercial and industrial electrical installations through to 11 & 33KV High Voltage systems.
