My career started in engineering and I moved into operations over 40 years ago and joined Oliver Wight as a Partner over 20 years ago. The experience gained in senior roles of Operations Director and Global Head of Operations at Mercedes/Ilmor really helped me to not only understand business but also how to motivate people to achieve great outcomes. At Oliver Wight, I have worked with leadership teams including Nestle, Cummins, 3M, Diageo, Ferrara, Oatly, Ferrero, Merck LS, Ulker, Cadbury, and Kraft Heinz to just name a few. I am proud that we have changed business performance together but also supported people development to enable high performance and career advancement. It has also been an honour to be on the Global Oliver Wight International Board for over 20 years and the Oliver Wight CEO for the last 14 years. During these years I continued to support executive teams in their desire to drive transformation but have also contributed heavily to developing new offers and thought leadership in business managementI reached the point 3 years ago where I decided that at 60 I would stop being the CEO of Oliver Wight to focus more on what gives me the greatest satisfaction - and that's working with executives on driving improvement. I also wanted to make sure that, from an Oliver standpoint, we have continuity and hence I fully support our new CEO Kirsty Braines who has been operating as the COO prior to 2023. So I will remain actively involved in supporting executive teams across the globe to deliver enhanced business performance and transformation. It's an exciting time where with the right vision business leaders can finally tap into the areas where delivering enhanced performance was beyond the human eye but is now within reach with AI, especially if data is connected to enhanced decision-making and optimisation. It is the evolution of Integrated Business Planning to Enterprise Business Planning.
