SENIOR MANAGER - Insurance (1992 - 2008)SENIOR SAFETY & LOSS PREVENTION SPECIALIST (1987 - 1992)•Negotiated insurance provisions associated with the establishment of joint venture. This included > 20 separate agreements covering venture; from formation, operating unit construction, facility operations, raw material supply & finished product sales. •Assisted in design & marketing of global property insurance program resulting in annual savings of nearly $20M.•Developed insurance programs for construction of the joint venture operating facility, including selection of insurance broker through an RFP process. Insurance programs included builders risk of $500M, Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP) covering a projected contractor payroll of $213M & liability coverage limits of $400M. •Redomiciled captive insurance company & avoided $2.2M in annual cost.•Negotiated resolution of large, complex product liability claim. Total settlement > $16M.•Managed integration of acquired businesses into existing insurance programs including harvesting of synergies & managing acquired claim portfolio.•Maintained relationships with insurers, brokers, service providers & internal stakeholders; accounting, legal, safety, finance & operating businesses. •Managed property insurance claim following hurricane involving 10 separate operating units, in 2 states. This $60M loss event was resolved within 2 years. •Designed & implemented customized loss prevention program focused on construction project reviews, human element programs & availability of consultative services.•Assumed significant role in justification & formation of a captive insurance company. Primary purpose of the captive was to comply with the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act (TRIA).•Justified, implemented & managed Owner Controlled Insurance Programs for large capital expansion programs & a rolling OCIP for on-site maintenance programs. Program active for > 20 years and provides average $750K annual savings.
