This role reports directly to the Reliability Superintendent, with responsibilities that include:1) Installation: Installation of new mechanical systems, replacement of old, faulty or redundant Mechanical systems as per the company and vendor’s safety and quality specifications.2)Mechanical protection: Ensure that all mechanical equipment have the correct hardware interlock and safety parameter settings for effective and safe operation.3) Maintenance: Adhere to the companies planned and preventative maintenance schedules and procedures. Effectively maintain the electrical equipment with the minimum effect on the plant production.4) Reporting and record keeping: Report all incidents immediately to your supervisor. Ensure that all safety logbooks are checked and signed according to the procedure.5) Stock Control: Ensure that stock levels of mechanical spares and necessary sub-assemblies are readily available and maintained in the warehouse and report all defective or substandard equipment to your direct supervisor.6)Tools and audit: Maintain the correct and safe usage of all hand tools within your section. Report all defective tools, record and control all replacement of tools.7) Training and development: Identify needs for specialised training requirements within your area. • This is for both Nickel and Copper plant Any other duties as directed by your supervisor e.g RCA, Failure forecasting and any other Reliability function

This role requires one to give technical input in the up keep the plants. Lesiba is required to be conversant in an array of equipment, which include but isn't limited to:* Gyratory Crushers* Sorting Screens* Cone Crushers* Loadout station equipment* Conveyor belt Installations* Material Stackers for Fine & Lumpy material* Bucket reclaimers* Jaw Crushers* Dust suppression equipment * Centrifugal Pumps etc...In this role Lesiba is also involved in Project Koketso which requires a number of upgrades in the current plant setup to allow an increase in material output to Saldanha bay.

- Consistently ensure the application of all safety, health and environmental principals during planning and execution of all shutdown related activities.- Ensure adequate risk identification, mitigation and controls are in place for all shutdown activities – ensuring that all critical controls are in place.-Manage and lead all health, safety and environmental efforts – maintaining a visible presence.-Ensure effective performance of all direct reports, i.e. Supervisors, Artisans and Contractors.-Manage and lead team performance to attain set business objectives and targets.-Ensure all personnel engaging in shutdown activities are trained and competent to do so. -Ensure effective shutdown scheduling in accordance with the Mine’s master operating schedule (MOS) is in place.-Ensure effective planning is conducted in accordance with the integrated planning and operating model (IPOM).-Ensure effective work management during shutdown execution in accordance with the operating model (OM).-Provide inputs into annual budget cycles.

This primary purpose of this role is to identify and manage asset reliability risks that could adversely affect the operations. In regards to the technical aspect of the role, I would be responsible for a number of activities but not limited to :1) Performance Reviews: Conduct weekly, monthly and quarterly reviews and report these up to Manager: AS&R. 2) Root Cause Analysis: Conduct investigation or assign RCA to determine cause of non-compliancein business performance targets.
