Recognized for excellence in payroll service and system expertise, I am a loyal Payroll professional with extensive experience leading, organizing and communicating the payroll function end to end, including processing and reconciling payrolls, journal entries and over 5,000 T4s/year, for: employees, expatriates, union, commission, contractors and retirees. Merging payroll best practices with internal business processes and the chosen systems, are my ongoing focus and delight.I discovered Payroll as a profession soon after graduating high school and knew I'd found a perfect fit. A perfectionist on a mission to maximize efficiency to help others, I remember my first thought was being surprised by the risk involved and how easy it would be to get it wrong, and I have preferred to be involved ever since. Thus, except for a role as Assistant Controller, I have mostly worked as Payroll lead or solo, enjoying the surprise that Payroll also involves: People Relations, IT, Systems, HR, Accounting, Benefits, Costing, Legal, Pensions, Taxation, Treasury... A brave, calm and gentle empath who loves to laugh, I have also been recognized for a constant positive enthusiasm, seeing Payroll as one sure way to help the masses, starting with trusted paycheques and reporting.A miracle I ever found the time working long days in Payroll and attending night school, I also enjoy other enriching experiences, as a volunteer, including: parenting! Canadian Payroll Association branch member, emcee of National Payroll Week Breakfast 2017, Certified Payroll Manager 2017, counselling, supporting adults with disabilities, starred in a cute reality show, acted in films, Radio, TV commercials, drummer in symphony, learning/teaching astrology, home decorating and being a home owner.
