Conducted cutting edge research into rural and African-American resources for documentation and preservation as part of a national effort to address property types that were underrepresented and threatened with loss from neglect, maladaptation, or development pressure.

Direct umbrella organization that supports two historic districts with more than 8,000 buildings, neighborhood commercial zones, and significant parks. Prepared successful grant applications for National Register documentation of the districts and worked with local officials on public-private partnerships.
