Create the strategic training plan for the 70 000 retail workforce, closely aligning to Business strategy.Accountable for identifying, creating and managing delivery of all L&D activity including new hires, talent development; leadership and management and all colleague training. Directed 4 functions: design team; implementation and demand planning team; leadership & management development team and the country wide team of training delivery specialists/ facilitators.

Commercial Head of region for the East of England. Accountable for the strategic direction, management and delivery of all aspects of the east business e.g.sales, legal, standards, people, costs and service. Previously, held positions in Marks and Spencer in project management, store management, HR, change programme management, Operations and Finance Management.

My first Head Office based role, leading the L&D agenda for M&S retail stores throughout the UK and Ireland. Headed up a brilliant team of learning designers and training managers, both in HO and dispersed across all UK regions. Led 2 Board-approved Priority 1 strategic change programmes for Retail, namely retail career paths and Our M&S service style.

Store Manager for the M&S store in this iconic city. Full revenue and P&L accountability and store leader for the over 500+ brilliant colleagues. Thrilled to be on the BID committee for the 2008 European Capital of culture which Liverpool was awarded in 2003.

Multiple store management positions for M&S across England, building commercial and leadership experience. Career highlights included- amongst the first cohort of female store managers- leading two significant stores through Cap-EX modernisation programmes- managing the no 3 revenue store globally (Handforth Dean, Wilmslow)- extra- curricular opportunities such as Chair of Graduate assessment centres for new managers; secondments to support European store openings and representing M&S in regional forums.
