With the Center for Educator Success leadership team, reimagine and co-create an alternative certification program for teacher candidates who seek to transform outcomes for students.Co-lead and facilitate the Teacher Team to develop practice-based coursework, implement certification exam interventions, and provide transformational coaching for teacher candidates. Work to empower new educators and equip them with the essentials they need to thrive and innovate in their practice.

Led and managed a staff of eight in training and mentoring seventy-two first-year teachers at Chavez High School's credit recovery summer school program.Served as liaison between Teach For America and Chavez High School administration and faculty, working to ensure that the best interests of both parties were served.Designed a system of diverse communications techniques in order to coordinate the efforts of Teach For America staff, new teachers, Chavez High School administration and faculty, and students.Analyzed student achievement data, new teacher performance data, and qualitative factors to devise solutions and interventions in order to maximize student learning.Facilitated weekly meetings during which staff collaborated to devise data-driven solutions and interventions in order to maximize student achievement.Created weekly schedule of training, instruction, and observations for staff and new teachers.Observed and provided constructive feedback to staff and new teachers.Evaluated staff mid-way through institute and at the end and discussed with individuals their performance and professional development goals.

Collaborated with fellow English teachers: Coordinated the school's Sustained Silent Reading program and writing center and facilitated staff development in content-area literacy instruction.Represented KIPP high schools at the Center for School Change at the University of Minnesota: presented our work with literacy at KIPP Houston High School in June, 2007. Fundraised for expanded classroom libraries-raised $2,000 in 2007.Coordinated and published school's weekly newsletter.Designed and implemented the AP English Literature and Composition and Pre-AP English II curricula.

Designed and implemented Language Arts curriculum at the tenth grade level. Led tenth grade English teachers in tracking students’ progress in aligned curriculum and assessments. Taught College Skill Building, in which students practiced SAT skills, wrote college entrance essays, and researched colleges. Coordinated two school-wide community service projects.
