Duties included:• Providing advise and guidance to Directors, Managers and staff• Drafting, issue and review of SHE Policies• Delivering internal Safety Awareness training for all Charles Hurst employees• Delivering short on-site safety tool box talks to motor vehicle technicians. • Carrying out SHE Audits and Inspections to measure compliance against legislation and Group targets• Investigating Accidents, Incidents, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences; maintaining accident records and statistics, notifying Statutory bodies etc.• Liaising with statutory bodies, Insurance Inspector / Engineers (LOLER & PUWER, Insurance Investigators, Solicitors etc• Carrying out Training Needs Analysis; outsourcing specialist training (First Aid; Fork lift; MEWP etc)• Carrying out PPE Needs Analysis; letting contracts for purchase / supply of PPE• Negotiating contracts & overseeing service of specialist subcontractors (fire alarms, extinguishers etc)• Negotiating contracts & overseeing service of First Aid supplies and specialist sub contractors e.g. fire alarms, extinguishers• Liaising with Human Resources Department regarding rehabilitation of employees on long term sick leave and other Occupational Health issues
