Assessing the English as an Additional Language (EAL) needs of a school and creating a programme to improve English language in students. This involves testing students’ current ability in English, developing staff awareness of inclusive teaching techniques through targeted training sessions, assisting with recruitment of EAL trained staff, timetable creation, course material advice and liaising with Heads of Department, Heads of School as well as Senior Leaders.

- Creating and managing a successful, thriving department.- Conducting regular classroom observations.- Line managing a team and developing staff to support and raise English language abilityincluding auditing needs, planning, planning interventions and data analysis to evidence impact.- Recruiting, training and helping staff achieve their professional development goals.- Identifying and assigning project tasks based on the skill sets, experience and strengths of staffmembers.- Planning workloads, allocating tasks and monitoring progress against agreed targets.- Examination administration for IELTS and other Cambridge English language tests.- Prioritising resources and coordinating workflows across a team.- Coaching others to work in a digital-first way.

- Responsible for learning and development of EAL students.- Ongoing assessment of English language ability in EAL students through various methods frominitial recruitment to the classroom.- Line managing and developing staff to meet the needs of EAL students.

- Line managing staff to meet complex and diverse needs of international boarding students.- Assessing risk related to safety, inclusivity and reputation.- Keeping to multiple deadlines while working in a busy environment.- Working cohesively as part of a team and utilising strengths to achieve shared goals.

- Collaborating with senior management to actively contribute towards developing andimproving methods of working/systems.- Planning, designing, delivering and evaluating Learning and Development.- Regularly devising whole school assessments.- Delivering training and mentoring new staff.
