At Medical City Dallas, I worked in the newborn nursery. While at Medical City I grew as a leader by assuming the role of charge nurse and challenged myself by working in parent education and teaching new parent classes. I enjoyed attending deliveries and easing newborn's transition into a new life, and aiding new parents with feeding and caring for a new infant. Additionally, I enjoyed floating to the NICU to aid in caring for premature infants, such as NG feedings, care of drug exposed infants, and infants with birth anomalies such as cleft palate or Pierre Robin syndrome, and more.

At Trinity Mother Frances, I loved learning how to care for high risk laboring woman and fetal monitoring, circulating the operating room during cesarean sections, and providing post anesthesia care. I also learned how to care for high risk antepartum patients and postpartum mother baby couplets. I loved supporting and teaching families during the labor and delivery process, and the care of their new infant.

I enjoyed working in the newborn nursery as a staff nurse and learning the role of charge nurse. I loved attending deliveries and aiding newborns in the transition of new life and helping new parents celebrate this momentous time by promoting those initial bonding moments via skin to skin and breastfeeding. Additionally, I enjoyed teaching new parents how to feed and care for their new infant. Floating to NICU was an opportunity that I enjoyed, which offered many learning experiences such as NF placement and feedings, care of premi infants, care of drug exposed infants, and care of infants with birth anomalies.

At Dr. Putman's office, I learned how to perform transvaginal ultrasounds, educate patients about their fertility treatment plan, prepare and administer IUIs, perform post coital exams, and more. Working with couples undergoing the stress of infertility is a delicate process, with that said, I loved providing education, support, and encouragement to couples trying to add to their family.

Longview, Texas Area

When I graduated nursing school I was given my first job as a RN at Good Shepherd Health System newborn nursery. At this facility, I learned the skills to be a newborn nursery nurse, and cross trained to work in the NICU. I learned how to attend delivers and transition infants to life, how to aid parents in feeding and caring for their new infant, how to draw labs, how to calculate and administer drugs, how to start an IV on an infant, how to calculate TPN, how to care for infants requiring: a ventilator, UVC/UVA lines, CPAP, needing NG tube feedings, and much more.
