Watson MacEwen Teramura Architects is the current practice which has grown since 1990, when Lesley established L.D. Watson Architect Inc. In 2000, with the introduction of Rick MacEwen, Watson MacEwen Architects was founded. In 2009, Allan Teramura joined Lesley and Rick, and WMTA evolved. The firm has grown to 12 busy professionals, enjoying a thriving business in downtown Ottawa. Lesley is the Founding Principal and Managing Partner, and today is a Senior Architect and Principal focusing on Institutional Projects.Lesley has been responsible for the provision of architectural services on more than 175 projects. These projects include functional and technical programming reports, feasibility studies, technicalinvestigations, interior design, concept planning, renovations, additions, and newconstruction. Lesley has focused her area of specialization on research and development facilities, mission-critical and secure facilities, and university based institutional projects. These are programmatically, technically and logistically complex developments. These projects have aggressive schedules and restricted budgets. She has successfully completed many functionally complex projects. Lesley is adept at working with stakeholders to establish their needs, exploring options, building consensus and making decisions. She is skilled at coordinating the efforts of large teams of consultants.Lesley’s constructed projects range in value from $500 K to more than $880M. On these projects Lesley takes a hands-on role and is responsible for the design concept, design development, construction documents, tender call, construction and contract administration, commissioning, as well as post-construction warranty reviews.Lesley advocates a hands-on approach and is highly involved in all stages of a project’s development.
