I have been a competitive swimmer since the age of 9, and have been swimming since the age 3.I started teaching when I was 17 at the swimming club I was a member of, and have been teaching ever since. I qualified a full ASA swimming teacher in my late 20.s, and more recently have also taken the STA level 2 training. and have had a my own swim school of some kind ever since. Unfortunately lack of pools and changing needs of club members at the pools I used meant it was difficult to keep running. Until 10 years ago when I struck up a relationship with a local holiday park who were more then happy to accommodate us.Since then My swim school has grown from a mere 26 swimmers to well over 300 despite having limited pool time . I was also able to secure another pool to expand into weekend lessons several years years ago and now offer lessons 7 days a week. As well as swimming lessons for children aged 3 upwards, I am baby / parent teacher qualified to level 2, I am an aqua fitness instructor, and through my capacity as a swimming coach I also offer mermaid swimming courses for adults and children and have just started teaching artisitc swimming with a view to setting up an arstistic swimming club in the future with the support of SWIM WALES.I have been assistant coach at several local swimming clubs, supporting young swimmers in their training and at competitions. Several of those young swimmers are now part of my teaching team!As well as teaching children and adults, I recently became an STA swimming tutor and am able to run a comprehensive training programme for my teachers to ensure that they are able to deliver the best lessons they can. as well as be able to train new teachers so that I never have a shortage!
