I lead a multi‐disciplined organization that builds features to help users access and understand their clinical health data. The work we do helps people make better, healthier choices by making their data more actionable, insightful, and complete. Organizing medical data is a complex undertaking that involves multiple distinct systems ‐‐ in my team, I have iOS engineers, server engineers, ontologists, data scientists, and MDs.Because this team was created from scratch when I joined Health Software, I've had the amazing opportunity to truly shape the team. I created a unified team vision and charter, defined cultural and organizational practices, and crafted a team roadmap that leveraged the team's diverse background. I've successfully grown the team and taught new hires (with a wide variety of different backgrounds, technical and medical) how to successfully ship quality products within Apple.By focusing on mentoring, setting clear direction, and developing strong organizational and communication skills within the team, we can tackle the immensely complex and nuanced challenges one encounters trying to change healthcare.

I lead a mid‐sized engineering org that specializes in lower‐level frameworks and architectures. My teams work closely not only with other teams in iWork, but also with many OS teams, iCloud, and other groups within Apple. Our unique perspective as a cross‐functional group gives us a larger perspective into all levels of application and framework development, and gives us expertise of handling many competing priorities and schedules.

Manager of the collaboration architecture team for iWork on iOS, Mac, and iCloud. We led the design and development techniques for bringing real‐time collaboration into the iOS and OSX iWork applications. I coordinated the daily work and prioritizes of my team, as well as efforts within iWork at large and across other teams within the OS and iCloud groups.
