Lesley is a Learning and Development professional (and qualified chartered accountant) with 35 years' experience in the professional services sector, 26 years of which as head of L&D in large accountancy firms in Scotland. Specialising in training needs analysis and creation of effective learning solutions. Experienced in leadership, management and personal skills training delivery, also training in the essentials of bookkeeping and accounts. Lesley joined Johnston Carmichael Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers as full-time Training Manager in 1992 and Head of Learning & Development, where she had overall responsibility for all aspects of partner and staff development (latterly 650 people). She was responsible for taking Johnston Carmichael through Investors in People in 1996 and was appointed Training Partner in 2004. Lesley retired as a partner in May 2015 to join her husband Keith in his training business, Pearl Onion Training.

On Board, Audit Committee, Staff Governance Committee, Remuneration Committee, Nominations Committee and recruitment and promotion panels.

Committee was responsible for authorising training offices and overseeing student exam appeals.
