Brand strategy for Jacuzzi Bathrooms, Jacuzzi Hot Tubs and B C Sanitan ceramics including people structure, route to market decisions, customer service support and policies, marketing plan, PR & advertising support and web structure.

Comms plan to change the Spring Ram Corporation to Jacuzzi UK following aquisition by US Industries in 1999 including new corporate identity creation and implementation and full PR plan with internal and external press execution. Regular press product launches with exhibition support at KBB Shows. Liaison between US HQ PR to share ideas and implementation strategies and be European conduit of information on corporate creative instigated by US advertising agencies.

The company was HQ for a number of home improvement UK businesses at this time and my role was to identify marketing synergies where savings could be made or joint initiatives more effective - eg Website, print buying, PR and communications.

Covering both Ram Kitchens and Chippendale Kitchens as Marketing Manager during this time. The role involved regular product launches, product, pricing and margin management. Plus communication to B2B customers nationwide.

Kitchen manufacturer based in Sheffield. Aquired by The Spring Ram Corp in 1995. The company sold via distributors who in turn sold to retailers nationwide. This was my first B2B experience and involvement with product, pricing and margin management within a marketing role. It also extended my experience in management of photography sets and brochure production. I also attended retailer forums with customers to gain feedback on new product initiatives.

ELS was an out of town furniture retailer with 42 stores plus co-op concessions. I was responsible for the weekly national and local advertising, the monthly promotions and in supporting in store POS.

I started my career at Magnet in their Manchester branch as a trainee manager in 1980. After two years I was appointed assistant manager for their Bradford branch and in 1984 became PR officer at HQ as I had detailed knowledge of their product range, which at the time was Kitchens, Doors, Windows and accessories. I was promoted to PR Manager in 1986 and Advertising & Promotions Manager in 1988. At this time I was responsible for a £7m National advertising spend largely across Press and heavy Direct Mail activity around regular showroom launches.
