I am a confident and experienced Communications professional who has worked in PR, marketing, broadcast television, digital communications, events and theatre. I have extensive knowledge of working in both the private and the public sector with well rounded knowledge of the communications industry and the ability to spot a good story. Working individually or as part of a team and as a Leader, I can demonstrate that I deliver projects on time even if this means hitting tight deadlines with limited funds.I am ambitious, open to new and innovative communications ideas and very supportive of the industry and my fellow colleagues in partner organisations. I am very passionate about strategic communications and partnership working. I believe in openness, honesty and transparency and continuous improvement for myself and my team. Over the years I have had the pleasure of working in partnership with many local government and public sector leaders. Working closely with all levels of accountability, presenting at board level and working at operational level. Some of these projects have been large multi agency and partner projects such as The new towns of Sherford and Cranbrook, Exeter Science Park and the Plymouth History Centre (now called The Box).Skills I have gained throughout my career include: communications strategy and policy planning, video editing, social media management, website and intranet editing. Using the written word, moving images, graphics and still images- I have learnt that there are many ways to convey different messages. These channels and methods are always evolving and I enjoy exploring the latest trends and current thinking. Outside of work I am an active member of my local community. Regular social runner and an accredited LTA, Level 2 tennis coach. I manage the South Devon Tennis Centre’s Ladies A team and recently joined the board as a Director. Working with the board I support the club’s marketing activities and run the Tennis Centre’s social media. In 2019 I also became part of the Devon Tennis Media Forum, promoting the sport across Devon.
