WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN LIFE FORCES YOU TO REINVENT? I was at the top of the heap: Editor-in-Chief of 4 national magazines and one day in 2016, it all vanished: The company I worked for closed More magazine. Gone was my big salary, the cozy staff, the international recognition and megaphone. I could have gone home crying.I decided to fight my way back instead.Angry readers came to my social media and asked me to "do something else for them." 627 of them took a 54 question survey to the end and from that I launched CoveyClub.com, an online/offline platform for women 40+ who need us to hold a space for them while they figure out what's next. I also launched a podcast, Reinvent Yourself with Lesley Jane Seymour (221,000 downloads), to inspire listeners to reach beyond their self-imposed boundaries and realize their dreams--at any age. I LOVE CONNECTING YOUI suck as a romantic connector. But I'm great at connecting women to others who can make their dreams come true. That's why we bring in experts to teach twice a week and meet in tiny 5-7 women PODs, do 30-Day Challenges to hold each other accountable, and now dig deep in a series of multi-session masterclasses designed to upskill each member. I AM A CERTIFIED TINY HABITS COACHNo one needs another life coach, but Tiny Habits provides a science-based way tohelp members get over the procrastination caused by fear of change.I BRING THE PROGRAMING OF COVEYCLUB TO WOMEN'S GROUPS IN CORPORATIONSDo you need a way to inspire your executives to work in concert, to trust each other, to manage stress and the needs of a balanced workplace? Covey can help. Reach out: Lesley@CoveyClub.comSPECIALTIES: Reinvention, connecting, organizing, motivational speaking

Editor In Chief, More Magazine, More.Com; Exec. Dir. Meredith Beauty Center Of ExcellenceMeredith Corporation Jan 2008 - Feb 2016Des Moines, Ia, UsAward-winning Editor-in-Chief (Most Powerful Fashion Magazine Editor by Forbes) of More brand. In addition to being the face of the brand (and appearing on every major television news program), I oversaw and evolved all editorial, creative and brand-extensions (books, podcasts, digital editorial, events, television). Under my eight years of leadership, I reinvented, reimagined and reinvigorated More, taking it from a dusty service book to a robust thought-leader for stylish, involved, highly-accomplished women. We featured the most powerful women in politics, business and entertainment--including Drew Barrymore and Shonda Rhimes, Gloria Steinem and Hillary Clinton, Megyn Kelly and Aung San Suu Kyi. In 2015, we made history by having First Lady Michelle Obama guest edit an entire issue--something that had never been done before, making global waves and driving 8.5 billion impressions. More drove conversations and sparked dialogue around issues that mattered most to women. Under my leadership we launched the More Impact Awards, celebrating women of accomplishment, presented by FLOTUS and Robin Wright. We worked with Harvard Business School, Microsoft, Duke, and Ellevate to develop thought-leadership partnerships and events. I also served as the Executive Director for the Meredith Beauty Center of Excellence where I coordinated content for beauty across brands.Top awards include: Adweek Hot List 2010; ASME National Magazine Award Nominee: General Excellence 2012, 2010; Best Cover Award Finalist 2012; Personal Service Nominee 2009, "The Endangered Uterus"; Association For Women in Communications Clarion Award, 2015 + 2014 Winner: Best Overall External Magazine, Circ. 500,000+; 2014 Winner: "A Hidden Cause of Chronic Illness";National Women's Political Caucus Emma Award 2014, "A Hidden Cause of Chronic Illness". -
