The content of this internship programme is based on the criteria as set out by the Health Professionals Council of South Africa (HPCSA) to ensure that the intern, following registration, can function independently as an Industrial Psychologist.The internship program will be undertaken at the Department of Correctional Services at Krugersdorp Correctional Facility: Human Resources department among different sections that fall under the HR group. Krugersdorp Correctional Centre is a facility is a medium security facility which houses offenders of an average of 2500 and employs 367 officials working across different departments (components). The organisations core focus is to securely house remand detainees, sentenced offenders as well parolees away from the communities they have transgressed whilst rehabilitating them for possible future re-integration. During the course of the internship program, the intern will report to the Centre Coordinator and Area Commissioner of the centre who will advise the intern who will guide and support the intern in the carrying out of various activities stipulated in the internship programme. To ensure that the intern fulfils the conditions of his internship, external supervision by Industrial Psychologists have been secured
