As an Economic Analyst at the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission, I manage, compile and analyse economic and financial company data to support policymakers on innovation related issues, with a growing emphasise on the intersection between competitiveness and sustainability. I have co-authored several technical reports, scientific papers and policy briefs.I'm responsible for the annual Survey on Industrial R&D that tracks global trends in R&D activities of the EUs main R&D investors. I propose question to grasp current hot topics, organise the logistics process and analyse the data with the publication of the technical report as a tacit output. Finally, I follow up on projects undertaken together with external research organisation and organise workshops and seminars.I used Python and Excel for data analysis.

Within the Treasury directorate of the Ministry of Finance I worked as a senior policy advisor. My main tasks consisted of writing policy briefs on a wide range of topics, such as the Services Sector, Insolvency Law and international macro-economic trends. I also supported the Minister in his role as Eurogroup President by preparing international meetings, such as the Eurogroup and Ecofin.I was also responsible for the Dutch membership of European think-thank Bruegel for which I contributed to their Research Programme, organise events and prepare Board material.Main dossiers I was responsible for: Ukraine/Russia; Reforms in Insolvency law; Reforming the Services Sector; Innovation in Europe; the Euro as reserver currency.

I am mainly involved in the construction of a sound database , including the Social Accounting Matrices, capital stocks, R&D investments, database management and econometric parameter estimation and calibration. I co-authored multiple scientific papers, technical reports and policy briefs.

Pricing / Risk analysis for a fast growing car insurer. The main tasks consisted of statistical analyses of a range of variables to optimize conversion for attracting new clients and retaining current clients by offering the right price. I used SQL queries to combine data from different tables on clients, claims and quotes. The company has a hand-on business mentality and keen on testing new strategies to improve the KPIs.

As a Research Fellow, I investigated the impact of different forms of innovation by performing mainly quantitative analyses on firm and industry level. I have been involved in many other projects , such as the EU R&D Scoreboard, Survey on R&D Investment and the Annual Digest of R&D. My role was to support policymakers in Brussels by actively proposing new research lines. I have also actively gathered microdata for further research and was the liaison between Eurostat and the IRI team on this topic.

I worked as a stagiaire for Industrial Research and Innovation team within DG JRC/IPTS. My main tasks were data mining, selecting, processing and analysing literature for publications as the EU R&D Scoreboard, EU Survey on Industrial Research and the Annual Digest on Industrial Research.

As internship for my study, I have investigated the pharmaceutical industry in the Netherlands. The objective for this investigation was the recommendation of interesting banking activities in this particular industry.
