The newly completed central library opened on the 27th of March 2010 and won the award for Best National Library. The library is designed according to an innovative concept: a library where experience and entertainment is the central pillar. The theater program was focused on interactive plays for children (age 4-12) and theater events for an adult audience (singer/songwriter nights, debates, stand-up comedy, cabaret, lectures, etc.) Our biggest challenge was to create and build a new and sustainable community, dealing with a small stage (112 seats) and a limited budget. In the end, we (together with Sylvia de Boer) managed to start up a successful theater, that is still running to this day.
