I am an educator and writer living in Washington D.C. Currently, I teach middle school math and humanities at the Maret School, and this is my 17th year in the classroom. I also write. A-Train Allen is a picture book about a speed-driven boy on a mission in his neighborhood (Sleeping Bear Press). Nearer My Freedom is co-written with my mentor Monica Edinger (Lerner Publishing). It is a found verse novel based on Olaudah Equiano's autobiography. I am represented by Stephen Barbara at Inkwell.
