My primary interest is in helping non-profit organizations, community groups, and small businesses decrease the time they spend on resolving (or ignoring) conflict. Conflict can show up as frequent turnover of staff or volunteers, stress, lower work effort, absenteeism, avoidance between individuals, and a general decline of commitment to the organization. Skillfully moving forward through conflict, individuals and organizations are able to refocus their time, passion, and skills back onto their missions. In addition to mediation, my services might include facilitation, peer mediation training, and conflict resolution systems design. My approach is straight-forward, affordable, and supportive to all parties. A varied background allows me to relate to a wide variety of people and situations. My previous work experience includes healthcare practitioner, high school teacher, professional musician, Merchant Marine, and the restaurant industry. All of these demanded conflict resolution skills. These were most seriously put to the test as director of a 16-piece street band!
