I facilitate the learning of a wide-range of creative, fun, hard-working 3rd graders. Our class is made up of a spectrum of abilities, experiences, and challenges. I focus on growing life-long learners; if my students still love coming to school at the end of the year, I have done my job! Collaborating with many specialists and peers helps to ensure that each of my students is challenged and growing towards state and national standards, as well as personal goals. My ingredients for growing the whole child: academics centered on Common Core and state standards, higher level thinking skills, rigorous discussion, development in social skills, learning to "Do Kindness", exercises in empathy, and a whole lot of mistakes, grace, and second chances.In 2020 I was recognized as a National Board Certified Teacher, and I recently served on our district's Tier 1 leadership committee. I have served on our district-wide math teacher learning cadre, teacher cadre literacy team, Hopkins PBIS Committee, and school leadership team.

Co-teacher in the Older Preschool (4-5-year-old room). Prepared children for success in learning by emphasizing the whole child (cognitive, social, emotional, gross, and fine motor among others) through a wide variety of strategies - whole group, small group, one-on-one instruction. Led the preschool team in the implementation of SmartBoard technologies and implementation of the new curriculum and Colorado state standards and benchmarks. Active grant writer seeking additional resources, financial, and community support for the work that done with our young students. Collaborated with other teachers and support staff (both within preschool and in the elementary grades) to create an environment that is rich and engaging for all students. Giver of many hugs, kisses and encouraging words!

Facilitated the daily workings of a small office. Managed payroll, tax forms, payable and receivables, as well as company compliance with employment requirements. Updated and streamlined company outreach to new clients.

Taught three to five year olds, both with and without disabilities using a range of different instructional strategies. Facilitated IEP (individualized education plans) and IFSP (individualized family service plans) and led district creation of benchmarks and standards for preschool. Collaborated with various support staff including K-1 teachers to create an environment that was supportive for all students. Implemented and lead community playgroups as well as in-home interventions. Recognized as an Exemplary Teacher, serving as a model classroom for other preschool teachers in the district.
