I am a Research Assistant Professor at the UIC School of Public Health and a Research Scientist at the Office of Community Engagement and Health Equity at the University of Illinois Cancer Center. My work is focused on understanding and addressing cancer health inequities in screening, diagnosis, and treatment through engaging in community-driven research using both quantitative and qualitative methods. I also serve as a public health consultant and evaluator for a number of cancer prevention and health promotion programs in Illinois.

I have experience in both quantitative and qualitative analyses, grant writing, working on multidisciplinary teams focused on addressing population health, and statewide implementation of health promotion programs. Previously, I worked on multinational teams to address maternal mortality and morbidity due to postpartum hemorrhage in low-resource settings. I also have 5 years experience working in federally qualified health centers in program improvement initiatives and case management for patients with chronic disease and at high-risk for cervical cancer. -
