I keep busy by applying both my technical work skills and my early education in environmental topics to support several organizations in my local community. I am on the Parks & Recreation Commission for the City of Keego Harbor where I have helped them update their Recreation Master Plan (making sure it includes Green Infrastructure Management!) and apply for grants to improve the parks. I will be applying project management skills there soon, since we just won one. I lead the Garden Club which provides beautification services around town. I represent the city on the Oakland County Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area (CISMA) steering committee, and serve as secretary to that organization. I'm a certified pesticide applicator now, and work for free on eradicating a variety of invasive species on public and private property in Keego Harbor, while sharing awareness of the problems they cause. I completed training last fall in the Conservation Stewardship Program run by the Michigan DNR and Michigan State University Extension Service, so I am now better able to perform stewardship tasks as a volunteer on public land in Michigan, and effectively communicate with my community on environmental issues. I'm the tree nag for the city as well, so every other year I manage the small grant we get from the State and the DTE Energy Foundation to plant more trees in Keego Harbor. Some sort of educational opportunity comes along at least once each year, and I fit in as much as I can. There is just so much to do! How did I ever work for a living?

I implemented Netview for various customers for many years, and I have specialized in IBM Tivoli Network Manager (ITNM), the Netcool replacement for Netview, since IBM acquired Micromuse several years ago. Platforms include AIX and all sorts of Linux.
