I strive to build websites that are faithful to their designs; are accessible, performant, and delightful to use; and are as intuitive to edit as I can possibly make them.The technology I use depends on the project’s requirements, but I typically build WordPress, Webflow, or Shopify sites (Javascript, PHP, Liquid, CSS or SCSS), though I also have experience with React, Vue, and Laravel. I am also comfortable building integrations with APIs such as Facebook, Google Maps, and SendGrid.As the sole developer on our team, I am responsible for drafting sitemaps, user workflows, and functionality requirement docs. Even though I typically build websites “from scratch,” I am also experienced in skinning and customizing third-party technology to suit clients’ branding requirements and/or integrate with existing applications. I am also responsible for leading client trainings and performing ongoing site updates and maintenance.

While at Dos Mundos, I designed a wide variety of printed and digital assets for local and national clients. This included designing logos, icons and infographics, as well as larger typesetting and layout projects for workbooks and brochures. I also helped build several customized WordPress websites, through which I began my education in web development.One of the largest projects I worked on while at Dos Mundos was the rebranding of Blenders & Bowls Açaí Café. My work included designing and hand-lettering their logo, as well as designing and facilitating production of a wide variety of printed materials. These ranged from large-format wall menus to food packaging, as well as seasonal promotional mailers and die-cut stickers.Other clients included: IDEA Public Schools, ADORN Boutique, 1839 Ventures, eRelevance, Trendkite, In Your Eyes Photography, and Krystal Transportation & Luxury Service.

As the lead product designer in the Holiday department, I executed decor, greenery, ornament and gift wrap designs for partnerships with the Home Depot, JCPenney and Macy’s.I produced and delivered large, highly-visual presentations of new business concepts, design decks, inspiration boards, and seasonal color palettes, both internally and to major business partners. I also oversaw the work of associate designers and freelance artists to meet deadlines and to ensure brand coherence and aesthetic viability.I managed communication with overseas vendors and traveled to Europe and Asia to develop quality, cost-engineered products. I was also responsible for regularly cross-collaborating with marketing, PR and magazine staff.My experience designing and producing tangible, physical goods at Martha Stewart translates directly to the work I do today in building interactive user experiences on the web. And my expertise in design software (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) means that I’m very comfortable editing and optimizing digital assets.

I executed design, artwork and copy corrections to books due for reprinting. Projects included hand-lettering assignments and retouching artwork. I was also responsible for scanning and handling original art.

Intermittently, mostly summers, I worked as a design assistant and on-set photo shoot assistant, working with the design team to fit and price garments, designing promotional materials, helping update the company's website, and also performing more mundane office tasks such as collating, proofreading, and organizing paperwork.
