Have you ever asked yourself what you would do if your world was turned upside down? Well, this situation was thrust upon me May of 2017. My choices were to run and hide, put my head in the sand and ignore the problems, or turn and face them and become the person I knew I could be.The past ten years I have been a stay home mom to my four wonderful children. I have been a volunteer for a local nonprofit organization. Youth advisor for a local club along with a board member for the same organization. I keep busy with my children and now I am fulfilling my longtime dream to be a teacher. The work is very difficult, especially when juggling being a newly single mom, working full time, and going to school full time. However, my life is what I make it and I will make it a good one! I want to be a person my kids are proud of. I started at my current employer as an assistant teacher in the Pre-K classroom. I was then moved into the 2-year-old room and quickly became the lead teacher. I am gaining valuable on the job experience that is helping me prepare for my future in elementary education. I am gaining experience in lesson planning, classroom management, and much more. Working in the field that I am going to school for makes my studies more relevant and I can implement new ideas the next day and can get better understanding. I am currently finishing my associates and will be transferring to a university to finish my bachelors and then my masters.
