My professional calling in life is People Operations and have 30+ years of experience in this realm. I worked in Finance for nearly 20 years and decided to take a chance, challenge myself, and accept an opportunity at a startup.The chaotic, fast-paced and ever-evolving nature of startups are equally challenging and fulfilling. I had the privilege of working for an Ed-Tech Startup for a couple of years and ended up running that company alongside its Founder. In that time, I was able to deepen my knowledge and skillset as it pertained to People and Business Operations. As is typical with most leaders at startups, I wear MANY hats! My contributions included, but not limited to, spearheading all of the following areas:-Talent acquisition-Employee onboarding & training -Employee payroll & benefits-Employee engagement & recognition -Salary benchmarking-Conflict resolution-Leadership mentoring & development-Billing & bookkeeping -Performance management-Implementing policies & procedures-Organizing team-building events That startup became an industry-leader and was later acquired by another company. I led those acquisition efforts and was able to gain even more skills as it pertains to M&A. Although intensely challenging, I was able to accomplish so much during that difficult time including: -Maintained 100% retention of employees for 1 year post-merger-Led change management & restructuring efforts-Built out a Playbook for future M&A for a more seamless transition for future companiesIn short, I am obsessed with building teams and empowering individuals to do their best work. I am passionate about creating an inclusive, synergetic culture that is fun and supportive so that employees are happy to show up to work each day and know that they are making an impact! I am great at working autonomously and taking ownership in making decisions, as well as being collaborative and working as a team. I approach each new challenge with an optimistic learning mentality and am always exploring new opportunities for growth!
