Chair of Finance CommitteeMiddlesex County Commissioner Leslie Koppel chairs the County’s Finance Committee. Commissioner Koppel was appointed to the Board of Chosen County Commissioners on Feb. 16, 2017. She is committed to improving the quality of life for all residents, including helping to bring quality programs and services to our residents at costs they can afford.

An accomplished nonprofit executive with broad experience in all aspects of management for mission-driven nonprofit organizations. A results-oriented and decisive leader with a track record of implementing organizational improvements to maximize mission impact while increasing fundraised revenue and reducing costs.

Council President Leslie Koppel was appointed to fill an unexpired term in 2006 to serve as Councilwoman At-Large and retained her seat by winning in the November 2007 & 2011 & 2015 General Elections. She is a life-long resident of Monroe Township, with her three children attending the Monroe Township Public Schools.Ms. Koppel earned her Master’s Degree in Politics and Public Policy at the Bloustein School at Rutgers University in December 2009 and her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology at Hunter College. She is currently the Director of a non-profit community program in Hightstown. She has also had 16 years of retail sales and management experience.Council President Koppel is currently a member Cultural Arts Commission. She also serves on the Middlesex County Transportation Coordinating Committee and is a member of the Monroe Township League of Women Voters. In addition to her public service as a member of the Township Council, Ms. Koppel has served as former President of the Barclay Brook/Brookside Schools PTA and as a member of the Monroe Township Board of Education Ad Hoc and Strategic Planning Committees.
