I began my career in software support with Lawson Software where I originally supported the Procurement suite of applications which run on Unix, Windows NT or the IBMi platforms. At that time the Procurement suite of products included requisition, inventory control, warehouse, purchase order, accounts payable, employee expense and cashbook. I migrated to the Financials support team when the company realigned the products supported by each team and moved accounts payable, employee expense and cashbook to the Financials support team. I received additional training within the Financials support team and began to also support accounts receivable, asset management, lease management and accounts payable invoice automation (APIA) along with accounts payable, employee expense and cashbook.I continued to deepen my knowledge of the products to go beyond front-end application support and I took on a role of troubleshooting issues with the products from an application technical perspective. This included working with cobol trace logs, reviewing and analyzing data, using displays in the cobol code to troubleshoot, using the Microfocus cobol animator tool to run debug on programs and reviewing iSeries joblogs and program dump files.I have always enjoyed working with clients to identify and resolve whatever issue they might be encountering with the software. I find the day-to-day interactions with clients to be a very rewarding part of my role providing software support.I was known within the support team as someone with a good memory and the ability to recall specific information/details from previous issues I worked on, or assisted others with resolving. This led to other members in the support teams reaching out to me at times requesting my assistance with a current issue a client was encountering.In my free time I enjoy spending quality time at home with my life partner Scott and taking long walks with my dog Cooper.
