Front Desk and Inventory Manager, I greet all members of the studio and manage the store inventory. I generate content for our social media platforms and am responsible for inputting the class schedule and inventory in the MindBody platform.

Research Tech II in the Chen lab working under Dr. David Chen in dermatology studying epigenetic drivers of premalignant states in skin. I function as a researcher in the lab and as lab staff, training members on equipment, protocols, and general lab management practices. I have been the primary establishing member of the Chen lab since our opening in 2021 and also have worked to generate a positive social space in the lab centered on equity, inclusion and collaborative efforts across fields.

Conducted research on the role of Lunapark in ER autophagy in Arabidopsis. Isolated protoplasts, conducted transient assays, assessed differences in genetic knock-downs via microscopy and data collection.

Tutored students in groups of 3-5 in genetics and molecular cell biology, focused on teaching through an active learning approach, developed own materials for assessment of understanding, and taught and managed relationships of students of varying backgrounds.

Aided students in developing experiments using synthetic genetic reagents generated by NSF Engineering Center for Biorenewable Chemicals, relating overexpression to lipid production, worked under PhD student to coordinate weekly lesson plans, ensured student comprehension of assays in molecular genetics, supervised students in lab setting, and helped students design experiments involving genetic KOs.

In the lab completed bacterial isolation, PCR, diagnostics of differing diseases transferred by pests in muskmelon and squash, data entry, maintained plants used for research in anthracnose fruit rot, and basic lab maintenance. Set up fields for research associated with different methods of organic production regarding irrigation, row covers and organic mulches, conducted crop scouts, conducted analysis regarding ground cover by leaf type, collected yield data, and aided in application of organic pesticides.

Aided in maintaining genetic identity of crops from a variety of locations and species. Assigned pollinators to crops, scouted for diseases, completed disease testing assays, inoculations, field set up, and screened seeds for integrity for sale to researchers.
