Founded in 2007, Arbovax was a privately held Raleigh, NC-based biotechnology company with innovative, proprietary technology that had potential to create low-cost, highly effective vaccines against insect-borne viruses such as Dengue Fever, West Nile and Chikungunya. After successfully completing non-human trials of its tetravalent vaccine for Dengue, the company was unable to secure the funding required to conduct human trials and ceased operations in 2015.

Gaithersburg, MD-based Oncormed (AMEX:ONM)—the first commercial provider of BRCA1 and other cancer-related genetic predisposition tests--was founded in 1993 to accelerate the translation of the translation of genetic discoveries into clinically useful products and services and was acquired by GeneLogic (NASDAQ:GLGC) in 1998.

Electronic Data Systems (NYSE:EDS) was a global leader in information technology and systems integration, with annual revenues exceeding $20B, and more than 100,000 employees in over 40 countries when the company was acquired by HP (NYSE:HPQ) in 2008.

Assisted major private and public purchasers of health care services in reducing the rate of increase in their health-related benefit expenditures. Provided Washington, DC representation and public policy support for select clients on issues of concern, including national health reform. Clients included Blue Cross of California, the Hartford Life Insurance Companies, National Practice Group of Mercer Meidinger-Hansen,Inc., National Medical Audit, Peer Review Services, Southern California Edison and USAID (for the government of Kenya through Abt Associates.)

As the fiscal intermediary for all State family planning funds allocated to Los Angeles County, LARFPC oversaw the distribution of over $30 million to some 35 agencies that operated more than 100 clinics and served up to 160,000 patients per year.
