Their purpose is to leverage economies of scale via group contracts for purchased services important to health systems operations , collaborating around best practices to enhance performance improvement, and staff education/business intelligence. Today the alliance has 8 members and growing. The changes in how we do business as a result of the COVID pandemic now make it feasible for like-minded health systems to join SAHA without being constrained by geographic boundaries. Our job is to help non- profit health systems remain relevant and viable in an ever-changing market place by bringing them together to network, learn, collaborate and save money via group buying power and collective wisdom.

It holds about 6 alternative payment model (APM) contracts for Medicare, Medicaid, Medicare Advantage and Commercial payers. As a Medicare ACO, IHANY lowered costs since 2018 and achieved a shared savings distribution of $4.5M for 2020. Similar results were achieved under other APMs. Developed direct to employer (D2E) offerings including lowering the cost of the SPHP Colleague Health Plan and increasing quality for this population.
