Hartford, Connecticut Area

While working for NIC Connecticut, I was recognized by my supervisor for outstanding design and leadership skills and was promoted to Creative Director. I manage a small team, from contractors to full time employees. My main focus is building a unified brand for the main state portal and extending it to agency websites. The consistent branding unites all state websites providing a coherent and meaningful experience. I worked closely with project managers and developers to migrate 80+ agency websites into a new content management system. I also create wireframes, user flows and user journeys for online applications. Other responsibilities include conducting content audits, creating content strategies, and oversee accessibility standards.

NIC Connecticut is a company that contracts with the state of Connecticut and provides digital services for constituents. NIC Connecticut is a subsidiary of NIC, Inc. I transferred to the Connecticut office from the Rhode Island office as I was excited to pursue this new role and have the opportunity to build the state portal from the ground up. While I was the UI/UX Designer, I worked on a variety of projects including redesigning the main state website and creating the workflow for a mobile DMV app.

While I was working on my Certification in Web Design at RISD, I started working with clients and building websites and other brand materials. I worked a majority with professional photographers, creating websites and logos. Most of the websites were built static with HTML, CSS and some JS. I also explored Wordpress creating child themes to allow clients to manage and make updates to their own websites.

NIC Rhode Island is a company that contracts with the state of Rhode Island and provides digital services for constituents. While I was there, I worked directly under the Director of Creative Services. My responsibilities included maintaining the main state website and state agency and municipality websites. I trained and supported 40+ agency and municipality web masters. I made sure websites maintained section 508 and WCAG accessibility compliance. I also had the opportunity to create online applications replacing paper processes and creating marketing materials to support those online services.

I was a design specialist at Alphagraphics, a printing and marketing company in Greenwich, CT. My responsibilities included but not limited to: preparing files for 2 color, 4 color and digital printing, creating business stationary, brochures, menus, greeting cards, color correcting files, and recreating logos from low resolution jpgs to vector art for quality printing.

Elmsford, Ny

Amscan creates party supply goods from paper products to party favors. All the items created are sold in Party City Stores. My job was to take the art from the designer/artist and translate it to the product mechanicals that would be sent to the manufacturer for production. Every project was different and I worked on everything from Christmas bags and cards to paper products like plates, cups and napkins, wrapping paper (pattern work), stickers and bounce balls, just to name a few. I also created visual mock-ups of all these items including printing out the artwork and gluing ribbon, bows and glitter.
