I performed administrative tasks for the marketing department, provided editorial support for fetch! magazine, Petplan's quarterly publication, and assisted with the team's Agile project management process.

Canine Partners for Life is an organization that trains service dogs for individuals with cognitive, neurological, and physical disabilities. I planned CPL’s major events including: an annual Spring Fundraiser (200 - 450 attendees), Independence Society Donor Receptions (50-90 attendees), Summer and Fall Gradations (200-350 attendees) and CPL’s Open House (over 1,000 attendees). Duties included managing all aspects of event design, vendor relations, sponsor and donor solicitations, copy and content creation, budget management, marketing, social media, public relations, and volunteer management.

• Eat, Drink, Write, Repeat. I wrote about the latest restaurant openings, food trends, rising culinary stars, and top events throughout Chester County and the Greater Philadelphia Region. I've penned over 150 articles, including one of the company's most shared articles of 2013.

United By Blue is an apparel brand that removes a pound of trash from oceans and waterways for every product sold through company organized and hosted cleanups. I planned over 70 cleanups across the country with Levi’s, Subaru of America, Horny Toad, and Sperry Top-Sider with a total of 2,139 volunteers in attendance. Cleanup planning included site selection, donation fulfillment, public relations and volunteer recruitment. I implemented a volunteer recruitment, tracking and retention program that doubled UBB’s volunteer count. I also created content for email newsletters, social media, web listings, and blog posts. I developed relationships with journalists to secure press hits in the Philadelphia Daily News, Philadelphia Weekly, ABC News, NBC News, Oprah.com, and Treehugger, Mother Nature Network, and Redbook's Holiday Gift Guides.

I planned major CRC’s major events-membership meetings, stream cleanups, Annual Dinner, and first ever birthday celebration that raised over $1,200. We saw a 10% increase in volunteers during CRC’s two major volunteer events: 13th Annual Streams Cleanup and 5th Annual Chester Creek Earth Day Cleanup, where 871 volunteers removed 26 tons of trash from 35 sites. I created all marketing materials including email campaigns, web copy, press materials, social media copy, brochures and semi-annual newsletters that were distributed to CRC’s 550 individual, municipal, business and institutional/nonprofit members.

I created press releases and copy for the Philadelphia Zoo website. I also assisted with major zoo events and press events.

During my internship, I got several letters to the editor published in regional papers, drafted press releases, attended public hearings, raised awareness about LNGs on my campus.During the Blue Vision Summit in Washington DC, I coordinated congressional lobby days for all the NJ representatives at the conference. Following my internship, I was hired to compile profiles on Clean Ocean Action's interns from the past 25 years.
