Review curriculum for one of the first online undergraduate degree programs at Northwestern, and revise as needed to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive curriculum. Approve drafts of new program proposals and create new course proposals for the Curriculum and Degree Board to review and approve. Review the Bachelor of Science degree structure, discuss the capstone/portfolio design for each major. Oversee the development of new or redesigned courses and ensure a cohesive and comprehensive curriculum. For School of Professional Studies, prepare and teach graduate and undergraduate process-oriented courses in writing, research, technical/business communication, and literature for students of diverse backgrounds. Create online classes such as graduate courses in Communications and undergraduate course such as The Pursuit of Happiness and Information Literacy Research Writing Courses. Developed new hybrid—online and in-class—courses in Business Communication and Literature and Leadership for Leadership and Organization accelerated degree program. With Philosophy Department colleague, created team-taught courses in writing, English 205: The Pursuit of Happiness, and philosophy and literature, The Moral Life: Philosophy and Literature. Selected twice to participate in intensive Technology in Learning and Teaching workshops, and developed effective teaching strategies incorporating new technologies; earned recognition for student-centered instructional design. Awarded Distinguished Teaching Award.In Design Thinking and Communication Program (a collaboration with the Writing Program and the McCormick College of Engineering), responsible for supervising engineering students’ work focusing on real projects and real clients. Support active learning process with academic technologies, including web-based course pack. Work closely with colleagues to create teaching strategies for upcoming class sessions. Consult with student teams on effective communication techniques within the team, as well as with faculty, clients and other students.
