GS 12 - Primary responsibilities included participating as a member in the testing team associated with the Army Human Resources Command, as a Senior Information Technology Specialist (Applications Software) in the Quality Assurance Office (QA). Enforced QA processes and standards. This included software product inspection and testing, software process evaluation, product distribution procedures, release management, scheduling production, non-compliance issues, leadership reviews, process quality audit and analysis process metrics development, collection and analysis for the improvement towards development and maintenance of military personnel applications systems. Managed existing software quality assurance processes and enforced existing software and data quality standards. Reviewed unit and integration level developer testing plans, procedures, data and results to detect and correct defects and improve software quality. Created and modified ADP life cycle and system documentation. Organized, analyzed, drafted documents related to information and data related to program policies under the direction of the supervisor. Tested records management systems with SQL queries. Reviewed, modified, and prepared system documentation that reflected the interface input data and data collection in accordance with production scheduling. Designed and created relational databases to store data and to retrieve that data, as well as to manipulate data through use of Structured Query Language (SQL) for the purpose of satisfying the operations requirements of the functional customer (Wounded Warrior project for injured service members). Analyzed information related to the functional descriptions to ensure system documentation reflected all aspects of user and maintenance manuals, implementation plans, specification documents and/or database feasibility and database studies were in compliance with agency, major command, and local standards.

Primary responsibility is to act as a member in the testing team associated with the Army Human Resources Command, Personnel Electronic Records Management System (PERMS) Program Management Office (PMO). Supports team activities related to application release testing, requirements traceability, analysis of system functional/performance requirements, and documentation of testing/analysis results. Reviews requirements for PERMS and assesses for testability. Performs functional, requirements-based (black-box) testing on the records management system, documents detailed test results for statistical analysis, and writes reports on test findings.Perform requirements-based testing of web-based, thin-client software applications; assess requirements for testability and provide feedback; design test scenarios, identify test data, and write/execute detailed test procedures; and capture and record detailed test results for statistical analysis. Familiar with common defect tracking tools and writing detailed defect tickets.Coordinating and participating in all phases of life cycle development activities for the project including: requirements gathering, analysis, design, data standards, software development, preparation of test case scenarios, preparation of software packages to support Quality Assurance (QA) processes and standards, software testing at both the functional and technical levels, stress testing for web applications, software configuration management, and communication with functional and technical staffs (both written and oral) through all phases of development. These tasks are accomplished utilizing PL/SQL, SQL and embedded SQL, TOAD, and Security Modules. Troubleshooting tasks and maintenance efforts. • Senior Programmer/Analyst for the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Manpower and Reserve Affairs, Civilian Personnel Systems located in the Hoffman complex. • Primarily responsible for the analysis of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and special user requests, as well as providing support for all phases of ADP systems of the Army Civilian Personnel System (ACPERS). • The analysis and support are used to develop requirements for enhancement and maintenance changes using COBOL/COBOLII, APS and Easytrieve programming languages to develop and maintain CICS and batch applications to access DATACOM databases within the ACPERS community. • Recent accomplishments include the data analysis and conversion of COBOL II, APS and Easytrieve programs to Oracle PL/SQL, using Quality Assurance practices for the development and execution of parallel testing of converted programs against the mainframe data to ensure consistent program functionality. • Other duties include managing existing software, devising and executing test plans building test data to ensure modifications simultaneously meet user requirements to maintain database integrity, documentation of all changes made to databases or applications, and participation in peer reviews to ensure delivery of a quality product to the Government.• As a senior programmer I have directed and assisted with the project planning, project management and evaluations of ADP systems to include quality assurance standards and policies.
