Profile bio

About Leslie Griffin

After more than two decades in Washington, D.C., I moved home to Massachusetts in the summer of 2018 to be closer to family. In January 2019, I founded Allinea LLC, which provides corporate public affairs and strategic communications support. My primary areas of work are policy advocacy, thought leadership, and business development communications. In positions at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, New York Life, and UPS, I built internal/external support for initiatives and shaped executive communications, including during my role as chief of staff to a CEO. I have had the honor to chair trade association committees, and to serve as chair or member of various coalitions focused on international trade, investment, and U.S. global leadership. I have also been a regular speaker at forums in the U.S. and overseas, and have a rich network of public and private sector contacts. My interest in China took me to Nanjing in 1995-1996, where I taught English and studied Chinese. Subsequent employers gave me many opportunities to return to China and work on business and policy issues in the market. I served on the Board of Trustees of Yu Ying Public Charter School, Washington, DC’s only Chinese language immersion school, and chaired its Development Committee. Since November 2019, I have served in a volunteer capacity as president of the National Foreign Trade Council Foundation, whose mission is to inspire, promote, and facilitate international trade and investment. I am co-founder of Women in World Trade, New England, and a past president of the Association of Women in International Trade (WIIT), a non-profit association of over 700 trade professionals in Washington, DC. I am passionate about helping the next generation of women develop their careers. A graduate of the London School of Economics and Wellesley College, I serve on the board of WorldBoston and enjoy rooting for Boston sports teams.
