Responsibilities in Accounting and Finance including AP, AR and billing, Payroll, General Ledger, taxes, audit, risk management and Insurance, banking, financial forecasting and reporting internally, externally, and to our parent company, business metrics. Additional responsibilities including Human Resources, Benefits Administration, Compliance with labor laws, Compliance with privacy Laws, Mergers and Acquisitions, Treasury Management and Strategy. Created a compliance department to ensure compliance with all privacy laws and government rules including GLB, FCRA, DPPA, and other legislative compliance. Conducted fraud investigations and worked with local law enforcement agencies. Received marks of excellence on Fair Information Privacy Audits. Managed our relationship with auditors, KPMG and received a perfect audit one year with absolutely no management recommendations. Developed and implemented “Walk a Day” program to bring various departments together to understand what their peers do and ended internal battles that previously existed. Additionally implanted a “mid level management training program” that enabled management to recognize up and coming leaders and ensure they are properly mentored and trained to succeed as they move up within the company. Finally, implemented a recognition program where departments (rather than management) could give awards to other individuals or departments for excellence in the workplace, ethics, and values. Responsibilities included GL, AP, AR, Payroll, Inventory, Fixed Assets, Taxes, Cost Analysis, Capital and Operating Budgets, Audit, Treasury Management, Forecasting and Financial Reporting, FERC Compliance, and Information Services. Successfully re-negotiated $63M in capital loans, with $3.5M in interest savings and converted the company from RUS to FERC reporting. Developed cost savings plans that took the company from a $2M loss position to a $3M profit position in 1½ years, with no loss in jobs. Served as community liaison for Y2K and participated in over 100 public planning sessions and speaking engagements in preparation for Y2K. Oversight with an organization that had union line workers and non-union house staff.
